Set at a school for blind children, this Hindi drama follows the institution's visually impaired headmaster, who leads a quiet, isolated life, and a young widow who is drawn into volunteering there after he hears her singing. As she becomes more involved with the students and grows close to him, an emotional bond develops between the two, though their differing outlooks and insecurities about disability, pity, and sacrifice create tension between them. Their evolving relationship, and the assumptions each makes about the other's motives, forms the emotional core of the story.
