This Satyajit Ray-directed mystery follows a young boy who claims to recall a past life spent in a golden fortress and begins drawing images of forts, camels and battle scenes. A parapsychologist takes the boy to Rajasthan to explore these memories, while a private detective is hired to protect him after a pair of con men scheme to kidnap the child in hopes of finding hidden treasure tied to his visions. As the group travels among Rajasthan's desert forts, the detective and his companions try to outwit the impostors and locate the boy before he falls into their hands.
