Set in a small village, this 1979 Hindi drama follows a bright sixteen-year-old girl who dreams of becoming a teacher but falls for a seemingly wealthy new veterinarian who arrives in town. The film, directed by Bharathirajaa as a Hindi remake of his own Tamil work, marked Sridevi's first lead role in Hindi cinema.
