Set in a small village, this 1979 Hindi drama follows a bright sixteen-year-old girl who dreams of becoming a teacher but falls for a seemingly wealthy new veterinarian who arrives in town. Her infatuation leads her to abandon her studies, only for the relationship to take an unexpected turn, prompting her to reconsider her outlook on life and her ties to a disabled cousin who has quietly loved her all along. The film, directed by Bharathirajaa as a Hindi remake of his own Tamil work, marked Sridevi's first lead role in Hindi cinema.

Where to watch in USA

We checked the streaming catalogues and it isn’t on any service we cover — in any country, not just yours. Films leave and return, so this can change.

We check JioHotstar, Eros Now, Sun NXT, Prime Video, ZEE5 and 13 others. If it is streaming somewhere we don’t read, it won’t show up here — tell us and we’ll add it.
