In this 1989 Tamil thriller, a young man named Maruthu arrives in the village of Mulimalai claiming to be the grandson of a long-departed local figure, though the village watchman Maayandi doubts his story. As Maruthu grows close to Ponnuthaye, whose brother Kaali is a fugitive wrongly convicted of a friend's rape and murder, he begins uncovering the truth behind that crime while facing suspicion about his own identity. A new murder tied to the case deepens the mystery that the village must untangle alongside questions about Maruthu himself.
