A retired police commissioner recounts his past to his grandson, describing how his rigid devotion to duty led to a rift with his own son after the boy was kidnapped by a gangster and later felt abandoned by his father's refusal to bend the law. As an adult, the estranged son drifts toward the criminal underworld, aligning himself with a rival gang leader who once spared his life, deepening the conflict between father and son. The story unfolds largely through flashback, exploring themes of loyalty, law, and family bonds strained by crime.
