Seelabathi follows a young woman who travels from Bengal to Kerala with her mother and stays on to take a temporary post teaching computer classes at a village school, living with her grandparents and forming a bond with a local doctor. As new bore wells cause water shortages in the village, several schoolchildren go missing and are found to have been sexually exploited, and suspicion from worried parents falls on Seelabathi's computer classes. The 2005 Malayalam drama, directed by R. Sarath, was framed by its maker as a tribute to girls reported missing across the state.
