This 1982 Hindi crime drama centers on Dhanpat Rai Mehta, a wealthy and influential smuggler whose grip on power begins to loosen as his children pursue lives of their own. His daughter falls for a police officer, while his son becomes involved with a girl from a modest background, pushing Dhanpat Rai to weigh his family's happiness against his wealth and control. The film, produced by Yash Chopra and directed by Ramesh Talwar with music by Khayyam, features a large ensemble cast despite underperforming commercially.
