Saveray Wali Gaadi

Hindi · 1986

Directed by Bharathiraja — Sunny Deol · Prem Chopra · Poonam Dhillon

Set in a rural Indian village, this 1985 drama follows a talented young poet whose romance with a woman from a different caste draws fierce community condemnation, leading to a false accusation and a humiliating public punishment that devastates his family. Forced to leave home, he seeks success and recognition in the city while the two lovers stay in touch through hidden messages left on a passing train, even as she faces mounting pressure from relatives and villagers to marry someone else. Their bond is further tested when superstition and a manipulated village ritual threaten her safety, drawing him back to confront the community that once shamed him.

Where to watch in USA

We checked the streaming catalogues and it isn’t on any service we cover — in any country, not just yours. Films leave and return, so this can change.

We check JioHotstar, Eros Now, Sun NXT, Prime Video, ZEE5 and 13 others. If it is streaming somewhere we don’t read, it won’t show up here — tell us and we’ll add it.
