Satyam follows a young man who dreams of becoming a songwriter but finds himself misunderstood by both his father and the woman he loves, Ankita. While secretly writing lyrics for a self-centered, famous poet, he strives to build a name for himself before revealing his feelings to Ankita, even as a rival classmate makes his own move toward her and her father forms an unlikely bond with Satyam. The 2003 Telugu romantic drama marked director Surya Kiran's debut and introduced actress Genelia to Telugu films.
