Sasural follows Chanda, a young woman raised without her parents' love by an unkind aunt after being orphaned. She finally finds warmth and belonging when she falls for and marries Narendra, but her aunt resents the union because she had hoped her own daughter would wed him instead, and she begins tormenting Chanda by claiming she has inherited a fatal illness from her late mother.
