This 1981 Telugu drama, written and directed by K. Viswanath, centers on a strict, tradition-bound Brahmin priest who once cut ties with his daughter for marrying outside their caste. When his orphaned granddaughter, a gifted dancer, comes to the village and is secretly in love with a flutist from a lower caste, the priest instead arranges her marriage to his own devout grandson, setting off a quiet crisis of conscience within the family. The story explores how rigid customs and caste divisions clash with personal devotion and inner conviction.

Where to watch in USA

We checked the streaming catalogues and it isn’t on any service we cover — in any country, not just yours. Films leave and return, so this can change.

We check JioHotstar, Eros Now, Sun NXT, Prime Video, ZEE5 and 13 others. If it is streaming somewhere we don’t read, it won’t show up here — tell us and we’ll add it.
