A wealthy young businessman named Ashok is stunned to read a news report claiming he is engaged to a dancer called Rajni, and sets out to confront her, only to fall genuinely in love with her once they meet. Their romance is complicated when a blackmailer targeting Rajni's mother is murdered, drawing Ashok, Rajni, and Ashok's driver into a tangled investigation as each tries to protect the others by claiming responsibility for the crime. Two police officers work to untangle the conflicting confessions as the case moves toward a court trial.
