In Allahabad, a devout Muslim mechanic named Hashmatullah is asked to restore an old Ford V8 truck engine without realizing it once carried Mahatma Gandhi's ashes to their immersion at the Triveni Sangam. As the vehicle's history resurfaces decades later and unrest grips his community following unrelated bombings and arrests, he faces pressure from local religious and community leaders to abandon the repair job, forcing him to choose between communal loyalty and completing the task tied to Gandhi's legacy.
