A gangster working for a crime boss abducts the daughter of a retired police official who witnessed the boss's crimes, initially letting her believe he is a policeman. As the two grow close, the henchman is moved to change his ways and give himself up to the law, while her family and other suitors complicate their romance. The story, a Kannada take on an earlier Hindi hit, follows the fallout as old criminal ties resurface to threaten the couple and their families.
