Raksha (2008) is a Telugu horror-thriller directed by Vamsi Krishna Akella, starring Jagapati Babu and Kalyani, about a construction company owner whose skepticism toward religion is tested when his young daughter begins showing inexplicable, disturbing changes in behavior after a dispute with a former business associate. As the girl's condition worsens despite medical consultation, the family is torn between explanations rooted in superstition, occult practice, and psychiatric science. The film is a Telugu adaptation of Ram Gopal Varma's Phoonk, itself inspired by themes from a Telugu novel dealing with black magic.
