This 1998 Hindi romantic comedy follows Muskaan, an orphaned young woman raised on a farm by her protective older brother Vishal and their uncle, who moves to Mumbai to pursue university studies. There she falls for Suraj, a directionless student at odds with his own father and stepmother, and their budding romance is complicated when her guarded brother deems him an unsuitable match. Suraj then tries to prove his worth by following Muskaan back to her family's village, setting off a series of misunderstandings and confrontations involving both families.
