In a rural village, a corrupt group of officials led by the village headman exploits and oppresses the local population. A young schoolteacher becomes a victim of their cruelty, while another woman feigns madness as she wanders the village. When the headman's son returns home after studying in the city, he quickly becomes aware of the systematic abuse occurring around him and works with others to confront the corrupt officials.
