A young man from a family of fortune-tellers aspires to become an actor and enrolls in acting school while hiding his modest background from his peers. When his father dies, financial hardship forces him to take up his family's trade as a roadside fortune-teller, where he unexpectedly gains fame. His life becomes entangled in a mystery surrounding the kidnapping of a state finance minister.
