Set during the Peshwa era, this Marathi drama follows Phullwanti, a celebrated Lavani dancer who travels to Pune to perform and to visit a site linked to her idol Mastani. There she encounters Venkat Shastri, a scholarly Peshwa court pandit whose disdain for her art sparks a public contest pitting his musicianship against her dance, testing pride, tradition, and artistic worth. The story, adapted from Babasaheb Purandare's novel, explores the clash and eventual reckoning between the two central figures.
