This short documentary, directed by Rayka Zehtabchi and inspired by activist Arunachalam Muruganantham, follows women in a village in India's Hapur district as they install a machine to manufacture inexpensive, biodegradable sanitary pads. Learning to build and run the small enterprise themselves, they begin selling the pads locally under a self-chosen brand name, working to overcome long-standing stigma around menstruation while gaining new economic independence.
