Pelli follows a bank manager who becomes smitten with a young woman working at a shopping mall and sets out to win her heart, aided by neighbors in the community where she lives with an older woman he takes to be her mother. As he pursues marriage, hidden truths about the woman's past and her connection to the older woman begin to surface, complicating their romance. The 1997 Telugu drama was directed by Kodi Ramakrishna and later inspired remakes in other Indian languages.
