Peddi follows a sports ministry official who, after India's disappointing Olympic showing, travels to a remote hilltop village in Andhra Pradesh to learn about a legendary figure named Peddi who inspired local youth toward athletics. The story then flashes back to 1994, tracing how a talented but impoverished tribal laborer named Peddi rose from playing cricket for money to training as a wrestler, all while his community fought discrimination and sought official recognition as a village. His journey is shaped by a romance, rivalries, and personal tragedy as he strives to bring dignity and identity to his people through sport.
