A dedicated police sub-inspector is called away from preparing for his wife's childbirth to hunt down a parolee named Solomon who has failed to return to prison. During the search and journey back, a tea-stall owner recounts Solomon's tragic past involving his daughter's murder, the villagers' suspicions, and the guilt-driven unofficial investigation of a fellow officer that exposed the real culprits. The story follows how this history of loss and injustice continues to shape Solomon's actions and the choices made by the officer assigned to bring him in.
