When his daughter Subbalakshmi runs away with a man she loves, village patriarch Neelakanta sets out to track her down, enlisting a wanderer named Krishna to help in the search. As the hunt unfolds, an unexpected romance develops between Krishna and Neelakanta's other daughter, Meenakshi, complicating loyalties around family honor and sacrifice. The 2008 Telugu drama was shot across several Indian locations and abroad, and went on to be remade in multiple languages.
