Parijatham

This Tamil romantic comedy, directed by Bhagyaraj, follows Seetha, a woman who moves near a once-wealthy family and grows close to Sumathi, a young woman now working as a maid after her family's fortunes collapsed. Charmed by Sumathi's character and a novel she has written, Seetha secretly decides she wants Sumathi to marry her son Surendhar, but dies before she can reveal this choice to her family. Her husband and son must then try to uncover which girl she had in mind, setting off a search complicated by clashing expectations about wealth and status.
