This 1998 Hindi comedy-drama follows a village youth named Raju who moves to Mumbai seeking a better life and falls for a wealthy man's daughter, only to be told he must amass a large sum of money within a year to win approval for their marriage. After stumbling upon an unclaimed fortune, he invests it in a tea estate in Darjeeling, where he becomes entangled with the property's caretaker and slowly uncovers a hidden connection between her family and the money he found. The film builds toward a complicated choice between the two women in his life.
