Set against the backdrop of World War II, this 1952 drama follows a Tamil family scattered between Rangoon and Madurai. While three brothers are delayed abroad, their sister Kalyani is left widowed and impoverished after her husband and father die, forcing her into hardship. One of her brothers returns to India in disguise, secretly searching for her while she remains unaware of his true identity.
