Set in a feudal village in Telangana, this 1997 Telugu drama follows Ramulamma, a Dalit woman who suffers brutal exploitation and violence at the hands of a local landlord and his family. After a series of traumatic losses, she is taken in by a Naxalite group in the forest, where she embraces their cause and rises to a leadership role, while a CBI officer sent to investigate the insurgency becomes entangled in the conflict between the rebels and the corrupt local power structure.
