A rigid, detail-obsessed software engineer with obsessive-compulsive tendencies sets off by train for a work assignment, only to have his tightly controlled routine derailed by a general strike. When a fellow passenger, an elderly politician, receives urgent news about his ailing wife, the engineer impulsively abandons his own plans to accompany him and a warm-hearted social worker on an unplanned journey home. Along the way, everyday encounters and unexpected detours push him well outside his comfort zone.
