Set in Madras, this 1980 Tamil drama follows a circle of young friends—two unemployed graduates sharing a room, one hoping to break into film music, and a college student neighbor who prefers painting and singing over studying—as they navigate poverty, unemployment, and personal ambitions. Their lives intertwine with a newly arrived family's daughter, sparking friendships and romantic feelings that complicate their already precarious circumstances. The film traces how financial hardship, family pressure, and thwarted dreams push the group toward escalating crises.

Where to watch in USA

We checked the streaming catalogues and it isn’t on any service we cover — in any country, not just yours. Films leave and return, so this can change.

We check JioHotstar, Eros Now, Sun NXT, Prime Video, ZEE5 and 13 others. If it is streaming somewhere we don’t read, it won’t show up here — tell us and we’ll add it.
