This 2007 Malayalam romantic drama follows Mohanakrishnan, a carpenter who is sent to work under a local nobleman and ends up serving as a temple's assistant priest while also learning Carnatic music. There he falls for Sathyabhama, a young woman who sells homemade pappadam and secretly takes refuge in the temple at night to escape a threatening cousin, and their growing relationship draws the disapproval and interference of the surrounding community. It was director A. K. Lohithadas's final feature and also introduced lead actors Vinu Mohan and Bhama.
