This 2019 Tamil supernatural romance, a follow-up to the 1979 film Neeya, centers on Sarva, a man believed to carry an astrological curse tied to snakes, who marries a woman named Divya despite this warning. Their life together is disrupted by Malar, a shape-shifting serpent-woman bound by an ancient curse who believes Sarva is the reincarnation of her lost love from decades earlier, and who begins pursuing the couple with increasingly dangerous intent. The film weaves between this present-day conflict and a past storyline explaining how Malar's tragic history and curse came to be.
