A young man assumes a false identity to infiltrate a wealthy household, posing as a deceased relative in order to court the headstrong eldest daughter of the family. When she initially refuses marriage, he must win her over through persistence and cunning, ultimately leading to a revelation of deception after their wedding. This romantic comedy draws inspiration from Shakespeare's exploration of courtship and character transformation.
