Mynaa is a 2010 Tamil romantic action drama that follows Suruli, a young man who has loved Mynaa since her childhood after helping her and her widowed mother when they were evicted. As adults, their relationship faces opposition from Mynaa's mother, leading to a prison sentence for Suruli and a forced marriage plan for Mynaa, which sets off a chase involving a jail officer and a constable trying to track him down before Diwali. Directed by Prabhu Solomon, the film draws loose inspiration from the Hong Kong film Dog Bite Dog and was later remade in Bangladesh as Poramon.
