A tragic love story in which a man is killed defending his wife from attackers, leaving her widowed and grief-stricken. Years later, his best friend seeks to marry another woman, but faces opposition from her brother who blames him for the original death. The conflict culminates in violence that ultimately allows the surviving couple to unite.
