This 1999 Tamil romance centers on Rahul, a young man who feels unwanted at home because of a harsh stepmother and a passive father, and who is further annoyed by a female housemate. His life changes when he becomes infatuated with a popular singer named Monisha after seeing her perform, and he persistently courts her by phone even though she has no interest in romance. Her eventual change of heart sets up a meeting between the two that drives the story's resolution.
