Set in a rural Indian community, the story follows Kanhaiya, a performer who sings and dances at local celebrations, and his bond with a loyal companion he grew up with. When the zamindar's daughter Chanchal falls for him and pushes for marriage, her father's harsh rejection sets off a chain of tragedy and conflict between their families. The plot also brings in Janki, a young woman entangled with a powerful landlord's household, whose path crosses with Kanhaiya's amid escalating tensions between the two feuding Thakur families.
