This 1989 Tamil masala film follows Aarumugam, a bold and principled man who disrupts a wedding to save a woman from being forced into marriage, an act that draws the attention and eventual affection of Geetha, the bride's friend. Their romance faces resistance from Geetha's wealthy mother, Rajarajeswari, who disapproves of the match and has already clashed with Aarumugam over his sister's relationship with her son. As the couple marries against her wishes, Aarumugam sets out to prove that love matters more than wealth or social status.
