This 1979 Hindi drama follows an ambitious young man who conceals his modest means to court a wealthy woman, borrowing a friend's car, flat and clothes to appear prosperous. He tries to launch a small venture refurbishing old galvanometers with a hired craftsman, but rival businessmen sabotage his plans by bribing the craftsman away, leaving him financially and legally exposed. As his deception comes to light, he must rebuild his business and face the woman's father, a lawyer determined to confront him in court.
