Manithan is a 2016 Tamil courtroom drama about a struggling young lawyer who relocates to Chennai and, seeking recognition, files a public interest case challenging the acquittal of a wealthy man in a fatal drunk-driving incident. As he takes on an influential and well-connected opposing lawyer, he faces intimidation and moral temptations that test his commitment to pursuing genuine justice. The film is an adaptation of the Hindi movie Jolly LLB.
