Set in the working-class neighborhoods of North Chennai, the film follows Kaali, a hot-tempered young man, and his close friend Anbu, an aspiring local politician, whose lives become entangled in a violent, long-running turf war between two rival factions of a political party. Their conflict centers on control of a neighborhood wall used to display party leaders' portraits, a dispute that has already claimed lives and escalates further as elections approach. Amid the growing danger, Kaali also pursues a romance with Kalaiarasi, the daughter of a politician.
