Maamaankam

Set in 18th-century Malabar, this Malayalam historical action drama centers on the ritual Mamankam festival held on the banks of the Bharathappuzha river at Tirunavaya, where the ruling Zamorin faces recurring challenges from suicide-warriors sent by a rival chieftain seeking to reclaim control of the event. The story follows a warrior clan from the Chandroth household, including a twelve-year-old boy who becomes renowned for his courage, alongside a separate murder investigation unfolding around a brothel near the festival grounds, led by the Zamorin's trusted aide. Mammootty stars in a story blending clan honor, political intrigue, and a mystery tied to a foreign visitor's death.
