This 1986 Hindi family drama follows Savitri, who lives comfortably with her businessman husband and young daughter Meenu until she dies shortly after giving birth to a son, Ketan. Struggling to manage his children and work, the father marries Laxmi, who mistreats her stepchildren without realizing her own brother is scheming against the family, eventually driving the children away. The story stars Shashi Kapoor, Sharmila Tagore, Tanuja, and Meenakshi Sheshadri in the central roles.
