This 1997 Hindi mythological drama retells a portion of the Ramayana, focusing on Sita's banishment after Rama's return to Ayodhya and her raising their twin sons, Lava and Kusha, at sage Valmiki's hermitage. As the boys grow up trained in scholarship and combat, their path eventually leads them back toward Ayodhya and a reckoning with the kingdom and their father's rule. The film features Jeetendra, Jaya Prada, Arun Govil, Dara Singh, and Pran, with music by Raamlaxman.
