Kuselan is a 2008 Tamil dramedy about a village barber whose lifelong friendship with a childhood companion resurfaces when that friend, now a major film star, arrives in their hometown for a movie shoot. As the excited village anticipates meeting the celebrity, the barber grapples with anxiety that fame may have made his old friend forget him. The film, directed by P. Vasu and simultaneously produced in Telugu, was a remake of a Malayalam original and featured a well-known actor in a brief but heavily promoted appearance.
