A retired Kerala police officer recalls his investigation into a criminal named Sudhakara Kurup while reading through old case files. The narrative traces Kurup's life from his time in the Indian Air Force through his escape to Iran and eventual return to Kerala, where he orchestrates an elaborate insurance fraud scheme involving a staged death that leads to an actual murder. As the investigation unfolds, the officer pieces together the conspiracy and the criminal's true identity.
