Korukunna Priyudu (1997), directed by Muppalaneni Shiva, follows Vijay, a reserved college student who avoids getting involved in others' affairs but ends up contesting student elections after being falsely implicated, eventually winning the post at his principal's urging. Meanwhile, his classmate Priyanka is pushed by her mother into an arranged marriage with a wealthy man, and when she resists, her mother accuses her of secretly loving someone, prompting Priyanka to realize her feelings for Vijay.
