This 1981 Tamil-language drama follows a Hindu man and a Christian woman whose relationship is met with fierce resistance from both of their families. As the couple tries to hold firm to their bond, they face increasing pressure and confinement from disapproving parents, setting the stage for a tragic outcome. The film, directed by Durai, went on to become a major box-office success and was later remade in Hindi.
