Khushboo follows Kusum, who is wed as a child to Vrindavan but is later disowned by his family after a false accusation involving her father's death. The 1975 Hindi drama, directed by Gulzar and starring Jeetendra and Hema Malini with music by R. D. Burman, is based on a Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay novel via its earlier Bengali film adaptation.
