This 1977 Tamil drama follows Gopal, a young man devoted to music and his belief in divine guidance from Krishna, whose grandfather encourages his spiritual and musical calling. His path crosses with Radha, a poor but principled woman he becomes convinced is destined to be his wife, while a parallel story unfolds around her brother Murugan and his employer's daughter Lakshmi, whose affection for him is complicated by class differences. An accident, memory loss, and family interference threaten to unravel the bonds Gopal and Radha have formed.
